Kirtan mantra meditation is a practice that balances and harmonizes the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of Self. We get to center and celebrate in community through the call and response of mantra and sound. A mantra is sound vibration, it is a meaningful statement or devotion in which we add melody and energy. Some mantras we offer will be of ancient eastern texts while others could be English affirmations. Mantra meditation allows us to get out from our mind’s chatter and feel the power of the present moment. It is much easier to meditate with words and movement than to meditate in silence.
We call this Kirtan, because it is more than mantra and meditation. Kirtan is an open door to arrive when and how you feel. Show up as you are! The door will be open for the hour, you can come for the entire time, for 30 minutes, or for five. Children are welcome, laughter and movement are welcome, this is a time to come together to celebrate the week and compassion for all. The power of vibration can transform mental rumination or stagnation into peace of mind. Let’s raise up our vibration for the week together!
Music can vary between solely vocals to accompanied instruments. Standing, sitting, it’s all welcome. We encourage movement and family. This is a smaller studio, but we can open the doors and expand onto the sidewalk! Come one, come all!
