Reiki

What is Reiki?

The most direct answer: an open door to the universal life force, but here’s something that might make more sense.

Everything in creation is made up of electromagnetic energy vibrating at different frequencies that correspond to sound, light and color. This we know is fact. That being said, everything you and I see and feel is a form of energy. Everything we are is energy. Same with the birds, trees, and insects. All the masses and all the emotions within our lives are diverse densities of energy. Everything we are and do is done through energy, just different measurements. The “universal life force” is the energy that runs through all things living. Reiki relaxes and helps balance the internal body by directing this energy to various areas of the body.

Reiki does not change a person’s energy, it does not “cleanse” energy, and it does not take energy from the practitioner to heal the receiver. No. As a practitioner of Reiki, the hands are merely a conduit of life energy. They are directing the life energy that exists around and within all of us and “telling it where to go” so to speak. The hands are merely the garden hose to the water that replenishes the plants.

When we ache, we rub our body. When our friends are upset, we hug. When we have a fever, we touch the forehead. These are all examples of how we already use Reiki daily as a remedy for healing. Reiki does not substitute the care of a physician, but it has certainly been effective at helping healing and relaxation.

What to Expect

Reiki sessions are 30 or 50 minutes. I use my hands as a conduit to direct life force energy to each of your chakras, surrounding areas as well as areas of discomfort.
